David Desrosiers replaced Bouvier ago in Reset, but he also left Reset and joined Bouvier six months later. This makes Bouvier to concentrate on vocals, after it was accredited to fill positions once the bass vocals .

Simple Plan origin of the name is unclear . When asked , the band often provide answers in the form of jokes , including one of them is because they formed the band as an " impromptu plan " to avoid working in fast food restaurants. But anyway, the greatest possibility , the name " Simple Plan " is taken from the title of the movie " A Simple Plan " , or the work of Piebald song titled " Just A Simple Plan ".

2002: No Pads , No Helmets ... Just Balls

In March 2002 , Simple Plan released their first studio album, No Pads , No Helmets ... Just Balls which continued with the release of the singles : " I'm Just a Kid " , " I'd Do Anything " , " Addicted " , and " Perfect " . The album was initially released in the United States with the contents of twelve songs , the last song " Perfect " . But the issue of bonuses and overseas editions later appeared in various versions with two additional songs on twelve original songs . For example , in the American edition contained a bonus track " Grow Up " , and " My Christmas List " , while the English edition contained the song " One By One " and "American Jesus " ( a live , a song by Bad Religion ) , including two bonus video clips " I'd Do Anything " and " I'm Just a Kid " .

" , they say that they do not want to limit themselves to the punk genre , but rather allow themselves to write " good music ".

Based on the bonus DVD of " Still Not Getting Any ... " , during the making of the album , the members of Simple Plan have time to think of some names fatherly this album , such as " Get Rich or Die Trying " and " In The Zone " . They chose the name " Still Not Getting Any ... " ( meaning : Still Can not Get ... none ) for several reasons . The reason most famous and best represent roughly is because they think that they are not getting good ratings , Pierre Bouvier, adding that they had to get a good assessment , ie from Alternative Press. Another reason is that at that time they still do not get the respect that good. There are many more reasons expressed by them, because any word can actually be put on the ellipsis in the title. Chuck Comeau added that the name of the album is " versatile " .

Meanwhile , in terms of music " Still Not Getting Any ... " showed a dramatic change of style of play Simple Plan . They can still keep their style to keep using downbeat lyrics combined with upbeat music , but they managed to get out of the standard pop - punk genre. Although many of the songs from this album are still feeling unstable bring a teenager like the song " I'm Just a Kid " from their previous album , in general this album 's lyrical themes tend to a deeper and more mature, as well as the music that sounds a bit more out of pure pop-punk style . Some professional judgment emphasizes the inclusion of rock elements of " classic " and " tendencies " , saying that the album " does not emphasize the pop - punk that is very active in shaping modern rock goal neatly formed and no -nonsense ".
